Day 1 - The Lunar Festival

It's like 3am in the morning right now and i cant go back to sleep. Jet lag. My first day in Vietnam went quite well. Filled with fun activities and happenings. Here's an overview of what happened in our first day at Ho Chi Minh City.

The fiancés' first meeting after 9 long months of nothin
g but phone calls and waiting. Awww... She was happy to see him but Anh Trieu playfully put up a grudge for her being half an hour late.

This could be just me, but I think she looks a lot like Julie, especially in this picture.

There's me trying to get in on some of the action. Oh yes, I dyed my hair back to black-brown for those of you who are unaware and happen to care.

We wanted to pick up some quick snacks before we headed to the hotel so we stopped by this lady selling puppies in the street. Haha, just playin'. According to Anh Trieu, she's selling them as pets, not as dinner but who knows. (awww.. Ngan and Jacinda, that reminded me of the puppy you named Dinner. RIP.)

We ate authentic Vietnamese phở, and as many of you know and have experienced, the taste is a lot milder than the phở served in America and the tương (hoisin sauce) doesn't taste as good. That's the lady making our food.

We came just in time for Tết Trung Thu or the Moon Festival where kids go running around with lanterns and eat mooncake. Yumm... Here's me feeding the dragon money. Apparently, yellow dragons can't jump. *chuckle chuckle*

I finished off the day with a 2 hour facial and message with the fiancée and we all went out for coffee at this HUGE 3 story glammed up coffee house. It was pretty much like a club without the dance floor and there were customers ages 1-101 just hanging out and, well... drinking coffee. Of course, they also had a giant menu of smoothies, sodas, teas and even food.

All right, onto day two!
